Working as a consultant

My input is always valued and I get to be a part of making good decisions regarding the solutions we create.
— Magne Skjeret

In the fall of 2019 architect and developer Magne Skjeret joined Instech as a consultant from Kraftlauget. Ever since, this software craftsman has been helping Instech develop our line of Etuity products using modern technology and practising continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Each day at the same time, the team holds a stand-up where people explain what they are working on, shown in a kanban board, to better coordinate task completion. If there are any additional discussions to be had after the meeting where Magne is involved, he feels that “my input is always valued and I get to be part of making good decisions regarding the solutions we create.”

Magne appreciates Instech’s agile development approaches and genuine openness for new ideas. His “team is always trying to improve, doing code reviews, optimizing deployment pipelines and the surveillance of the system in operation.”

The Etuity products which Magne is working on use Microsoft Azure cloud services. From the ground up, him and his team “create cloud services that utilize the clouds inherent elasticity and managed services, not only to save cost, but also to give us the resources needed whenever we need them.”

Magne says that Instech focuses on “delivering quality software with speed and ease.” He is pleased “to be part of this journey together with skilled co-workers” from both Instech and other consultancies.
